Frequently asked

What is Change Hunter?
A free tool from MyCoinage that lets you tick off every UK coin you find in your change. The platform tracks every circulating British coin from 1971 onwards — including all rotating 50p, £2 and £1 designs — so you can see at a glance which ones you're still missing.
Do I need an account?
You can browse the full checklist without an account. To save your progress and earn collector levels, sign up free — the basic tier supports up to 25 coins.
How is this different from the official Change Checker?
Change Checker focuses on swap-style trading. We add realised auction prices to every coin, plus rarity scores, mintage figures and grade-by-grade price history. The two tools complement each other.
What counts as "in circulation"?
Coins struck for general circulation by the Royal Mint, in denominations from 1p to £2, dated 1971 or later. Commemorative-only and proof-only coins (like silver Britannias or gold sovereigns) are excluded — they were never released into change.
