MyCoinage Press Kit
Covering a story on UK coins, the Royal Mint, rare circulation finds or numismatic markets? We're here to help. Quotable, citation-ready facts; live realised auction data on 4,700+ British coins; founder available for interview within one business day.
What MyCoinage is
MyCoinage is the UK's most comprehensive coin price tracker. Every value on the site is a realised auction sale — an actual transaction where a coin changed hands — rather than a dealer asking price or catalogue estimate. We aggregate sold listings from major UK auction houses (Spink, Baldwin's, Noonans), eBay UK and PCGS / NGC auction records to give collectors the truest market picture available.
The platform launched in 2025 and is independently run from the UK by founder Connor Jones. There's no venture capital, no external shareholders, and the free tier covers everything most collectors need.
Suggested story angles
- Rare coins to look out for in your change. The 2009 Kew Gardens 50p (mintage 210k) and 2023 Atlantic Salmon (mintage 200k) regularly turn up in pocket money. We can supply realised sale data.
- Counterfeits in circulation. Up to 3% of pre-2017 round £1 coins were estimated fake. We have a guide on how to spot them.
- Royal Mint releases & market reaction. Live tracking of how new commemorative issues move on the secondary market in their first 30/60/90 days.
- Inheritance and probate valuation. Coin collections are often misvalued at inheritance — specialist auction estimates vs eBay realities.
- Tax-efficient gold investment. Why UK sovereigns and Britannias are CGT-exempt and how that compares to imported bullion.
- Fastest-rising / fastest-falling UK coins. Auto-generated monthly from our price database.

About the founder
UK-based coin collector and software engineer. Built MyCoinage from a personal coin-tracking spreadsheet into a public reference platform after realising that no UK site was tracking realised auction prices in a structured, accessible way. Writes the editorial guides, vets the price-aggregation pipeline and answers press enquiries personally. Available for written quotes, recorded interviews and TV/radio appearances on UK numismatic topics.
