Stephen Raw
British calligrapher and lettering artist whose typographic approach has been used on several Royal Mint commemoratives where lettering carries the design weight. Best known among collectors for the 2020 Brexit 50p reverse, "PEACE, PROSPERITY AND FRIENDSHIP WITH ALL NATIONS" plus the date 31 January 2020, and for hand-drawn lettering on John Lennon and Beatles-themed Royal Mint commemoratives. Raw's designs sit unusually in modern UK coinage: the lettering itself IS the design, rather than supporting an illustration.
