Coming soon: Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Man and Gibraltar coins

Until now MyCoinage has covered the coins of the United Kingdom. That is about to change. Coins from the Crown Dependencies and Gibraltar are on their way to the catalogue, so the pieces that turn up in your change after a holiday, or sit in the back of an album, will finally have a home here.

Which coins are coming

  • Jersey comes first. We have more than 1,000 Jersey coins lined up, starting with the circulation coins and then the commemorative and collector issues in batches.
  • Guernsey follows Jersey.
  • The Isle of Man comes next, including the designs collectors chase in their change.
  • Gibraltar rounds off the first four.

How they will work

Exactly like the UK coins you already track. Each coin gets its own page with mintages by year, and values from real sold prices wherever enough sales exist. You will be able to add them to your collection, wishlist them and count them towards your totals.

The issuer is part of every coin's name and its flag sits beside it, so a Jersey 50p is never mistaken for a UK one. You will also be able to browse the catalogue by issuer. All four use the pound at par with sterling, so values stay in pounds.

When

We are not putting a date on it. Each batch goes live once its mintages and images have been checked, and we would rather be right than early. We will post here as each issuer arrives.

In the meantime, the UK catalogue is open as usual.

Eleanor Wright

I write the guides, grading reference and blog here at MyCoinage. Been collecting British coins since 2012, started with an inherited bag of pre-decimal silver and that was it, I was hooked. My main focus is 20th-century UK proofs and the Elizabeth II pre-decimal silver, but I spend most of my week reading auction catalogues and new coin submissions across every denomination.

If you spot something in a guide that could be sharper or you have a suggestion for a page we should add, drop me a line through /contact, I read everything that comes in.
