Selling Terms
The terms that apply when you sell coins to MyCoinage. Short version: you post to us at your cost, every offer is provisional until we inspect, and we pay within 24 hours of your acceptance.
1. Postage to us
You are responsible for the cost and risk of posting items to us. We recommend Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed (coins are classed as valuables; the contents cap is £2,500, contact us before posting anything worth more). We are not liable for items lost or damaged in transit to us.
2. Inspection & revised offers
All offers are provisional until we inspect your items. If items differ from your description (authenticity, grade, or contents), we will send a revised offer within 2 working days of receipt. You have 14 days to accept or decline a revised offer.
3. Returns
If you decline a revised offer where your items differed from your description, we will return your items once you have paid return postage and insurance at cost. If your items matched your description and we simply revised our offer downward for market reasons, we return them at our expense.
4. No storage fees
We do not charge storage, handling or holding fees at any point, however long your items are with us. If your items are awaiting return postage we will simply send you polite reminders at 14, 30 and 60 days.
5. Uncollected items
If items remain unclaimed 90 days after our final reminder, we may treat them as uncollected goods under the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977: we will give you written notice, and after the notice period may sell them. We will remit the full sale proceeds to you, less only our reasonable sale and postage costs. No storage fees are ever deducted.
6. Ownership & age
By submitting items you warrant that you are their legal owner (or are authorised by the legal owner to sell them) and that you are 18 or over.
7. Payment
We pay by UK bank transfer within 24 hours of your acceptance of the final offer. We do not make cash payments.
8. Data
We retain purchase records (your name, address, the items purchased and the price paid) for 6 years, as required by HMRC. See our privacy policy for how we handle personal data generally.
