This is the collector version of the £2 struck for the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta. It exists because the Queen's portrait changed during 2015. A proclamation in force from 9 October 2014 set the design with the legend used alongside Ian Rank-Broadley's fourth portrait, and coins with that obverse went into the Royal Mint's 2015 sets and packs.
Jody Clark's fifth portrait followed, introduced in March 2015 according to Check Your Change. A second proclamation, in force from 11 June 2015, kept the reverse and edge but gave a new obverse legend. The 1,495,000 coins in the Royal Mint's circulating figures are all listed as the fifth-portrait coin.
No circulation issue of the fourth-portrait coin is recorded. The Royal Mint's 2015 sales figures give 32,818 single Brilliant Uncirculated coins and 17,897 annual sets, which Coin Hunter adds to 50,715 uncirculated coins. Those are sales, not a striking figure.

The obverse is what sets this coin apart. It carries the fourth coinage portrait of Elizabeth II, by Ian Rank-Broadley, in which the Queen wears the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The legend uses the longer form ending FID DEF, followed by TWO POUNDS and 2015.

Check Your Change warns that fakes of the fourth-portrait Magna Carta £2 are known. A coin with Jody Clark's portrait is not a variety of this one: it is the circulating Magna Carta £2, a separate and much more common issue.
Collecting notes
Identify the portrait first, then read the legend: FID DEF for this coin, F D for the circulating one. The reverse and edge will not help, because they are the same.
Coin Hunter lists the 2015 annual set, which it dates to 16 December 2014, as holding this coin alongside the fourth-portrait Royal Navy £2. Given the warning about fakes, an example still in its Royal Mint packaging is easier to trust than a loose coin.
The October 2014 proclamation also provided for silver, silver piedfort and gold versions with the same legend, the gold with a plain lettered edge. The companion coin from the same sets is the fourth-portrait Royal Navy £2.
