Why free?

MyCoinage launched with a £2.99/month Pro tier in early 2026. The honest answer: not enough people needed the paid features badly enough to justify the friction of asking for payment details. The site does great as a free tool — visitors stay engaged, refer friends, and the data quality keeps improving as more collectors join. Charging for it was getting in the way.

If the site eventually needs to support itself, it'll be through optional dealer affiliate links (already in place — we earn a small commission when you click through to eBay or a bullion dealer, at no cost to you), Google Ads on guide pages, or a future API for B2B users. Not from per-user subscriptions.
