The coin collection app
that runs in your browser.
Track your UK coins on every device, sync in the cloud and skip the App Store entirely. MyCoinage is a free coin collecting app backed by realised auction sales, not catalogue guesses.
Why a browser coin app beats a native download
The traditional advice is that an app means a store download. For a coin collection app, that advice is twenty years out of date. A modern browser handles everything a native app does: offline caching, push notifications, home-screen installation, camera access for uploading photographs, and hardware-accelerated graphics. You lose the install step and gain four things that matter more.
- No app-store gatekeeping. Price updates, new coins and fixes ship the moment they are ready, not when Apple or Google get round to reviewing them.
- One collection, every device. Sign in on a phone, a tablet, a partner’s laptop or a library PC and see the same inventory. No cable, no iCloud backup, no restore.
- Your data lives on our servers. Losing a phone does not lose your collection. Replacing a phone does not require a backup-and-restore dance.
- Zero install friction. A coin you spot at a fair goes into your collection in under a minute, on a device you already have.
If you still want a home-screen shortcut, MyCoinage installs as a Progressive Web App on iOS and Android in two taps. The Royal Mint and the British Museum both publish data the site links back to, so you can cross-check a coin’s specifications without leaving your collection view.

Where the app gets its price data
A coin app is only as good as its prices. MyCoinage only publishes realised sales, the figure at which a coin actually changed hands at auction or on a verified marketplace. We never use asking prices, dealer retail or estimates. Sources include:
- eBay UK & US: verified sold listings only, continuously refreshed.
- Spink, Baldwin’s, Noonans: hammer prices from UK auction-house catalogues, weekly.
- Onebid: European auction aggregator, hammer prices only.
- Member submissions: sales logged by collectors, passed through an admin queue before publication.
Each record goes through an automated verifier that checks denomination, country, grade and outlier range. Flagged rows are held for manual review. The result: when the app shows your 1937 crown is worth £120 in Extremely Fine, that figure came from coins actually selling at that grade, not a guess. The grading guide explains the scales, and every coin page shows the source list for the prices above it.
