Where the app gets its price data
A coin app is only as good as its prices. MyCoinage only publishes realised sales, the figure at which a coin actually changed hands at auction or on a verified marketplace. We never use asking prices, dealer retail or estimates. Sources include:
- eBay UK: sold listings only, never live or unsold listings.
- Spink, Baldwin’s, Noonans: hammer prices from UK auction-house results.
- Member submissions: sales logged by collectors, passed through an admin queue before publication.
Each record goes through an automated verifier that checks denomination, country, grade and outlier range. Flagged rows are held for manual review. The result: when the app shows what a coin is worth in a given grade, that figure came from coins actually selling at that grade, not a guess.
