Prices refresh every hour now
Gold, silver, platinum, palladium and copper spot prices, plus the USD / GBP / EUR exchange rates that drive our currency switcher, now update hourly across the site. Before today they refreshed three times a day. Your portfolio value, melt values on coin pages, and the leaderboard all pick up the new numbers within the hour.
We also switched our gold and silver pricing to live spot data rather than futures, so the numbers you see on the Metals page match the reference prices elsewhere on the web to the penny.
A proper mobile menu
The top nav on phones has a new menu button next to the logo. Tap it and a sheet slides in with everything that didn't fit in the bottom bar, Leaderboard, Metals, Coin Series, News, Watchlist, Settings and more, plus the currency picker and an Upgrade to Pro shortcut for free members.
- Top nav now stays pinned at the top of the screen when you scroll
- Filter sheet on the Browse page swipes down to close and floats above the bottom nav properly
- Login, register, Browse filters and currency switcher all got small refinements
50 new achievements
We've added fifty new badges to chase, everything from filling your first full coin series to owning pieces from more than ten British monarchs, reaching a 365-day streak, or logging your first coin sold at a profit. That's 69 achievements in total now, with descriptions shown inline on your dashboard so you always know what earns what.
Four new guides on Explore
Four new long-form guides are live:
- Are my old coins worth anything?, UK and US identifier walkthrough
- How to grade a coin, the Sheldon scale plus full UK-to-US crossover table
- What makes a coin rare?, the five factors explained
- Coin collection insurance UK, valuation, provenance and specialist insurers
Other polish
- Leaderboard and profile visibility are now separate settings, you can appear on the leaderboard while keeping your profile private
- Private users show on the leaderboard with a 🔒 marker and an unclickable name
- Blog posts and updates render with proper headings, lists and links
- Site updates now send an in-app notification when they publish
- Accessibility: a proper keyboard focus ring, reduced-motion support, cleaner skip-to-content link
