FAQ & Help Centre

Everything you need to know about MyCoinage.

Getting Started

What is MyCoinage?
MyCoinage is a free coin collection tracker and price guide for UK and US coins. Track your collection, see grade-by-grade price history from real auction sales, and compete on the leaderboard.
Is MyCoinage free?
Yes! The free plan lets you track up to 25 coins, view basic price data, and access the grading guide. Pro (£2.99/mo) unlocks unlimited coins, individual sale records, source links, and more.
How do I add a coin to my collection?
Search for your coin on the Browse page or any coin detail page and click ‘Add to Collection’. Choose your grade, purchase price, and date.

Pricing & Data

Where do your prices come from?
All prices on MyCoinage are realised auction sale prices — actual transactions where coins changed hands. We track eBay UK sold listings, plus results from Spink, Baldwin’s, Noonans, and other UK auction houses. We never use asking prices or dealer estimates.
How often are prices updated?
eBay prices are updated daily. Auction house results are added weekly. Price aggregation runs nightly to update grade summaries.
What does ‘Market Value’ mean?
Market Value is a volume-weighted average of all verified sale prices for a coin, factoring in sales across all grades. It represents what the coin is actually selling for in the current market.

Account & Pro

What’s included in Pro?
Pro (£2.99/month or £28.99/year) includes: unlimited collection tracking, individual sale record access with source links, series completion tracking, advanced portfolio analytics, and priority support. Includes a 14-day free trial.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to Account Settings → Subscription and click ‘Manage Subscription’. You can cancel anytime and keep Pro until the end of your billing period.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Go to Account Settings, scroll to ‘Delete Account’, type DELETE to confirm, and enter your password. Your collection entries are anonymised (not deleted) to preserve community data.

Coin Grading

How are coins graded?
UK coins use a descriptive scale: BU (Brilliant Uncirculated), UNC, EF (Extremely Fine), VF (Very Fine), F (Fine), VG, G. US coins use the Sheldon numerical scale (MS-70 down to P-1). See our Grading Guide for full details.
